Reopening of Visitation for Assisted Living and Healthcare

The Culpeper’s leadership team thanks all members of the community for the ongoing support and patience. We are excited to share that our most recent round of baseline testing for healthcare and assisted living concluded with all negative results. There have been no new-onset COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days in the community within independent living, assisted living residents, healthcare residents or team members.

As a result, effective Monday, February 22, The Culpeper will reopen for visitation within independent living, assisted living and healthcare. Memory support will remain closed to visitation at this time due to one team member’s positive result from baseline testing last Monday. This area will continue to undergo testing and visitation will be reopened once criteria are met.

Detailed visitation guidelines will be available at the main entrance of the community upon entry.

Multiple means of visitation are available, using thoughtful processes which include appropriate infection control measures:

I. Dedicated outdoor visitation spaces: located directly outside the main entrance, within proximity of healthcare center, and at the memory support courtyard gate
II. Window visitation
III. In-room visitation (resident room/apartment)

The Culpeper’s team will now accommodate and support indoor visitation, based on the following guidelines. Please keep the following important information in mind:

• Visits will be limited to no more than two visitors at a time and will be limited to a maximum of two hours. As a reminder, all visitation will occur 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., seven days a week. Visitors must be over the age of 16.
• Visitor movement in the community will be limited; visitors will be required to go directly to the resident’s room/apartment for visitation. Movement throughout the community and use of common areas will be restricted at this time. Visitors will need to immediately exit the community once visitation is complete.
• All visitors must be screened and logged in at the main entrance. We ask that you refrain from visitation if you are experiencing any signs or symptoms of illness.
• All visitors are expected to adhere to mandatory mask use and six feet social distancing guidelines at all times.

As a reminder, capacity rules are in place to restrict the number of visitors allowed in the building at one time. Please keep in mind we must adhere to these regulations and you may be asked to wait to enter the building or to return at a later time.

This enhanced process will allow residents to visit throughout different levels of care within the community, excluding memory support, providing an opportunity to reconnect. The Culpeper will continue with resident communal dining and activity opportunities as previously, however, visitors are not permitted to participate in communal dining or activities with residents at this time.

Anyone who has any active illness symptoms should not visit. Additionally, the leadership team requests that visitors notify The Culpeper immediately if they become suspicious of having COVID-19 and have visited The Culpeper in the 14 days prior to coming into contact or suspected contact with COVID-19.
