October 11: COVID-19 Update

On October 10, 2021, the leadership team learned of one non-direct care, team member that tested positive for COVID-19. This individual’s contact tracing has been completed with no direct exposure to residents or team members identified. The team member will quarantine at home until return-to-work criteria is met.  Additionally, one unrelated direct care team member became symptomatic and has tested COVID-19 positive. Through contact tracing, it was been determined two team members were directly exposed to this this team member. The appropriate steps to reduce viral spread have been taken and Virginia Department of Health has been notified. No direct exposures for residents have been identified.

We are pleased to share that the health care visitation will remain on-going and there will be no changes in visitation protocol for the Terrace level at this time. Due to the low risk of resident exposure, the Virginia Department of Health was consulted and agrees with the policy of continued visitation.

We continue to undergo twice weekly testing for all unvaccinated health care team members due to Culpeper County’s high transmission rate. Testing is being completed today. The next testing date is scheduled for Thursday, October 14th. We will continue to keep you posted about any further positive cases or necessary changes in protocol.

The Culpeper’s team urges all residents and team members to remain vigilant regarding mask-wearing, social distancing, and proper hand hygiene.
