January 31: COVID-19 Update
The Culpeper team learned that a cottage resident tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, January 29. In addition, The Culpeper’s clinical team continues to test symptomatic team members as needed. Positive results due to symptomatic testing are listed below.
Terrace level healthcare positives:
• One direct care team member
Assisted living positives:
• One direct care team member
• One non-direct care team member
All communal activities and dining remain suspended for Davis Street as well as the continued suspension within the memory support neighborhood. Residents will remain in their private rooms in both areas, and positive residents have been placed in isolation. All communal activities and dining within assisted living, Main Street, and rehab-to-home continue as scheduled with mask use and distancing in place.
Per Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services guidance, visitation will not be discontinued although visitors are strongly discouraged from visiting Davis Street in terrace level and the memory support neighborhood.
The positive team members will remain at home until return-to-work criteria are met. Contact tracing has been completed. No high-risk exposures to residents or team members were identified.
The Culpeper’s terrace level remains in outbreak testing with the next testing date for residents and team members set for Thursday, February 3. Residents and team members in memory support will be tested next Tuesday, February 1, or if they become symptomatic.
Any team members who have received a medical or religious waiver from LifeSpire of Virginia will continue to be tested based on the county transmission rate. The leadership team will communicate any further positive cases.
All licensing agencies and the Virginia Department of Health have been notified of the positive cases and subsequent actions taken by The Culpeper.
