January 25: COVID-19 Update

The management team is pleased to report the garden level memory support neighborhood had a successful week: all residents and team members received negative results as part of outbreak testing. The Culpeper’s clinical team continues to test symptomatic team members as needed.

Team members who tested positive as a result of symptoms are outlined below:

• Saturday, January 22: one memory support direct care team member
• Monday, January 24: one terrace level direct care team member
• Tuesday, January 25: one non-direct care team member who works all levels of care

All communal activities and dining continue to be suspended within the memory support neighborhood and residents will remain in their private rooms. All communal activities and dining within assisted living and terrace level continue as scheduled with mask use and distancing in place.

Per Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services guidance, visitation will not be discontinued although visitors are strongly discouraged from visiting memory support.

The positive team members will remain at home until return-to-work criteria are met. Contact tracing has been completed. No high-risk exposures to residents or team members were identified.

The Culpeper’s terrace level remains in outbreak testing with the next testing date for residents and team members set for this Thursday, January 27. Residents and team members in memory support will be tested next Tuesday, February 1, or if they become symptomatic.

Any team members who have received a medical or religious waiver from LifeSpire of Virginia will continue to be tested based on the county transmission rate. The leadership team will communicate any further positive cases.

All licensing agencies and the Virginia Department of Health have been notified of the positive cases and subsequent actions taken by The Culpeper.
