January 24: COVID-19 Update

The Culpeper’s management team has become aware of three additional residents who tested positive for COVID-19. One resident, which resides in memory support, became symptomatic and tested positive at an offsite location on January 23. The other two residents were identified during Thursday’s state-mandated baseline testing. One resident resides in the healthcare center and the other in assisted living. Both residents are in isolation in their rooms.

Additionally, on January 23, the team learned that a direct care healthcare team member tested positive at an offsite location. This team member is quarantining at home until return-to-work criteria are met. The team member’s last date of work was Wednesday, January 20. Additionally, Thursday’s baseline tested identified a COVID-19 positive healthcare dining team member whose last date of work was January 13. This team member and has been quarantining at home after potential exposure at home.

All resident representatives, licensing agencies and the Virginia Department of Health have been notified. Team member testing continues twice weekly in the healthcare center due to the high county positivity rate. Assisted living and memory support team members are being tested once a week. Main building residents in all levels of care continue to be tested weekly. Residents will be tested next Thursday, January 28.

Residents continue to quarantine in the assisted living and memory support neighborhoods. Communal dining and activities are suspended throughout the community. Visitation remains suspended for all residents in the main building. Independent living cottage residents are not permitted into the main building until further notice.
