January 21: COVID-19 Update

The Culpeper’s management team is pleased to report that all results of team member baseline testing from Monday, January 18, were negative. However, on January 20, the team became aware that two residents who reside in assisted living tested positive for COVID-19 after becoming symptomatic. These residents are in isolation in their rooms.

Additionally, on January 20, the team learned that a healthcare team member tested positive at an offsite location. This team member is quarantining at home until return-to-work criteria are met. The team member’s last date of work was Friday, January 15. All resident representatives, licensing agencies and the Virginia Department of Health have been notified.

Team member testing continues twice weekly in the healthcare center due to the high county positivity rate. Assisted living and memory care team members are being tested once a week. Main building residents in all levels of care continue to be tested weekly. Residents will all be retested today, January 21.

Residents continue to quarantine in the assisted living and memory support neighborhoods. Communal dining and activities are suspended throughout the community. Visitation remains suspended for all residents in the main building. Independent living cottage residents are not permitted into the main building until further notice. Please continue wearing masks covering the nose and mouth, socially distance and practice proper hand hygiene.
