January 15: COVID-19 Update

On January 14, The Culpeper’s management team was alerted that two direct care team members tested positive for COVID-19 at local rapid testing sites. On January 15, the team became aware of two additional direct care team members who tested positive for COVID-19. Two of the team members work in the long-term healthcare center, one of the team members works in assisted living and the fourth team member works in assisted living and memory support.

All team members are quarantining at home until the return-to-work criteria are met per the Virginia Department of Health (VDH). Contact tracing has been completed and no direct exposure to residents or fellow team members was identified. VDH and all licensing agencies have been notified.

Per recommendations from the local health department, residents are quarantining in the long-term healthcare center, assisted living and memory support neighborhoods. Communal dining and activities are suspended throughout the community. Visitation remains suspended for all residents in the main building.

Team members are available to assist with phone calls with loved ones, use of Zoom, Skype and window visits weather permitting. Independent living cottage residents are not permitted into the main building until further notice. All team members and all residents, in all levels of care, were tested on Thursday, January 14. The management team will report any positive results once the results are returned.
