February 1: COVID-19 Update

The Culpeper’s management team is pleased to report that all results of team members’ baseline testing from Monday, January 25, and Thursday, January 28, were all negative. However, the team became aware of three residents who tested positive for COVID-19 from January 28 testing. One resident resides in memory support, while the other two residents reside in the healthcare center. All three residents are in isolation and recovering.

All resident representatives, licensing agencies and the Virginia Department of Health have been notified. Team member testing continues twice weekly in the healthcare center due to the county positivity rate. Assisted living and memory support team members are being tested once a week. Main building residents in all levels of care continue to be tested weekly. Residents will be tested next on Thursday, February 4.

Residents continue to quarantine in the healthcare center, assisted living and memory support neighborhoods. Communal dining and activities are suspended throughout the community. Visitation remains suspended for all residents in the main building. Independent living cottage residents are not permitted into the main building until further notice.

The Culpeper team continues to be diligent with proper infection control to manage the spread of the virus. Please continue wearing masks covering the nose and mouth, socially distance and practice proper hand hygiene.

The second coordinated vaccination clinic with Walgreens Pharmacy will occur Wednesday, February 3. Details for residents and team members have been provided in separate correspondence.
