August 26: COVID-19 Update

We continue to have pending resident and team member test results from this week’s outbreak testing. Today, The Culpeper’s management team became aware of two direct care team members, who work in the healthcare center on the terrace level, that have tested positive for COVID-19. Both team members have been wearing an N95 mask and following appropriate infection control protocols while working. The team members are at home on quarantine per the return-to work criteria set forth by the Virginia Department of Health.

Additionally, one resident who lives in the healthcare center on the terrace level, has tested positive. The resident remains asymptomatic at this time. No other residents or staff are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms currently.  All residents in the healthcare center on the terrace level remain on droplet precautions/contact isolation. All licensing agencies and the VDH have been notified.

Communal dining, communal activities, and visitation remain suspended on the terrace level in the health care center. Compassionate care visits will continue as deemed appropriate by leadership team members. Please continue to utilize other creative options of communication with loved ones on the terrace level, such as Zoom, Skype and window visits. Our receptionist or programming team members are glad to assist you with setting up the process.  Visitation will continue for the memory care and assisted living neighborhoods.

We will keep you posted of any further positive cases or necessary changes in protocol. Our next planned terrace level team member and resident testing will be held on August 31, 2021.

The Culpeper’s team urges all residents and team members to remain vigilant regarding mask-wearing, social distancing, and proper hand hygiene.
