The Culpeper Confirms a Team Member Tested Positive for COVID-19
The management team at The Culpeper is working together to keep residents, families and team members safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, we are committed to transparency related to COVID-19 testing results.
A team member from The Culpeper tested positive for COVID-19 on July 9. The team member is recovering at home. At this time, no other team members or residents at The Culpeper have tested positive for COVID-19. The management team reported the positive test result to the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) per the guidelines set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The team member works in a coordinator role and has had minimal exposure to residents and other team members. The team employee last worked a partial shift on July 9 and was tested the same afternoon with a rapid test completed locally. Contact tracing is underway to determine if other team members and residents might have been exposed.
The Culpeper management team is closely monitoring all residents in the assisted living, memory care and health care areas of the community to ensure that everyone is in good health. Everyone who enters the community is being screened daily, including all team members and vendors. Each team member has been educated regarding the process of self-reporting which includes travel history and symptoms of respiratory illness.
This positive case is unrelated to the baseline testing that is scheduled for Monday, July 13. Baseline testing will continue as planned for all residents and team members, with the exception of cottage residents, between 8 – 10 a.m.
